
Dr. Ardavan M. Khoshnood
Dr. Ardavan M. Khoshnood is an Associate Professor (Docent) and Senior Lecturer in Emergency Medicine at Lund University, and a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Skåne University Hospital, Sweden. He holds a PhD in Medical Sciences with a focus on clinical emergency medicine and has conducted postdoctoral research in academic medicine. He currently serves as Senior Editor of BMC Emergency Medicine and sits on the editorial board of the European Journal of Emergency Medicine.
In addition to his medical career, Dr. Khoshnood holds academic degrees in Criminology (Malmö University), Police Work (Umeå University), Political Science (Malmö University), and Intelligence Analysis (Lund University). He lectures at Swedish police education programs and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Investigative Psychology and Offender Profiling.
His interdisciplinary research spans violent crime, gang criminality, offender profiling, criminal intelligence, and police work, with particular emphasis on intelligence analysis, intelligence failure, counterintelligence, espionage, and foreign intelligence operations. Between 2020 and 2023, he was a researcher at the Begin–Sadat Center for Strategic Studies. His current geopolitical and security research focuses on Iranian foreign policy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence.
